Lesson 3 – Board Control, Speed & Turns In this lesson, we focus on movement patterns to help you understand the dynamics of the surfboard: how it moves, how to keep balance, how to stand correctly, how to start your bottom turn, generate speed and much more. Through different videos and clear, practical objectives, we teach you: - Wave sides – right-hand and left-hand waves - Board diagonals – how to ride across the wave, not only straight - Toes rail vs heels rail – using both edges of your board - Angling – setting the right direction from the take-off - Body posture – safe and efficient surf stance - Trimming vs carving – controlling speed vs deeper, more powerful turns - How the surfboard works on a wave – pressure, weight distribution and direction - Bottom turn basics – the key turn that sets up your whole ride All of this helps you move from “just standing up” to reading the wave and using it. From Beginner to Intermediate By completing this third lesson, you: cover the full beginner knowledge, and are ready to start your transition into the intermediate level, with better control, more speed and more conscious surfing.
